Yesterday was my first day to use my season pass to the Monterey Aquarium. I get to enter in a less crowded exclusive entrance and receive discounts throughout the Aquarium. As I walked in they were in the middle of feeding the otters. To feed my ambition of having a pet otter, one of the otters jumped into the feeding bucket and acted like it was in a jacuzzi and daintily plucked fish from the bucket into his mouth. The otters playfulness were in full blast and I watched bugged eyed. Once they finished and the people cleared, I spend ten more minutes watching longingly. After, I walked out onto the balcony where three telescopes (not the astronomy ones) faced the ocean. I waited patiently for one to open, and when one did i scoped the waters for a wild otter. The lady previously looking through mine took out her binoculars to scope as well. Out in the kelp I spotted an otter on his back eating. I quickly told the binocular lady and she too got excited. I created a line of people wanting to look at the otter, so I left the telescope for the others and crossed the balcony to get away from the crowd. I leaned on the rail and watched a slug seal swim in the kelp. Ten minutes later the binocular lady stands right next to me and watched the seal too. She was from Salt Lake and came here to watch the US Golf Tournament the next day (apparently Tiger Woods is somewhere in Monterey (*side note* did he follow me??? Didn't I just leave him in Irvine???)). I told her I lived here and she should go look at Lover's Point Park, but if she wanted to go the other direction Fisherman's Wharf is exciting too. We departed soon after and looked to see what surprises the Aquarium had to offer that day. I did not stay for more then an hour after since the US Tournament brought many fans with them. I left with high spirit that I officially became a local (well at least to that one person).
I have changed my blog to my imagination coming to life I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy writing it
