Adapting to a new environment where no one knows your name is extremely difficult. Especially if half the roommates aren't making it the most enjoyable place to be after 8pm. The first week was pretty difficult, my foundation worked miracles in covering my shadows forming under my eyes. It wasn't until yesterday when everything started to look bright again. First my loud roommate left for the weekend so I have been able to reduce my foundation dosage. But the most exciting change was my job at the Salinas Target. I have been working at the Target Corporation for about three and a half years now but it hasn't been consecutive. The ETL (Executive Store Leader (Manager)) of the Hardlines Departments (He is in charge of the store with hard tiled floors) introduced me to everyone with a huge grin that I was his new electronics Team Member. After whipping out my Target skills of flexing, a Target Team member said I was an "angel" because I was making her workload drastically decrease. I was originally worried my many talents were going to be wasted since no one knew who I was, but the complete opposite occurred Thursday at 12pm. I was able to use all my talents plus more. I cleared a flatbed higher then me of clearance toys, helped set entertainment sale planers, set two toy front end caps, and help the electronics get a high score by getting 6 attachments. Being a workaholic at heart these last two days made up for all the bad things happening at home. My picture today is from a sales planer I took down. I asked John (my supervisor) if I really had to throw it away, and his response was "Go ahead and take it, its the least we can do." I believe it fits perfectly with my room. It brings closure to me that Buzz will be looking after me while I sleep and also be my motivational boost. Being alone up here has been difficult, but my "Toys to the Rescue" will keep me safe, plus, of course, my St. Christopher necklace.
I have changed my blog to my imagination coming to life I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy writing it
